SISTER KELLETT

Ok, its official, my younger and more mature sister Kaitlyn in AMAZING. Last Sunday, she turned in her mission papers! Yes, we were all a little shocked. Not because she isnt going to be the most wonderful sister missionary ever, but because it all happened so quickly. Katy has been such a great friend these past few years and to think how much i will miss her, hurts. But I am honored that my sister is making such a sacrifice. She is a great example to us all and I am blown away her testimony. I love her more than words and wanted to give a "shout out" to the new BYU hawaii graduate and future Sister Kellett. I love you and cant wait to see you in just a few days!

Thanksgiving 2008

We had such a great Thanksgiving! Lela made a FEAST, with 3 main courses and 8 desserts, yes 8! It was incredible especially because there was only 12 guests! It really was one of the best Thanksgivings ever! Besides our feast our weekend was full of other adventures. We went bowling for the first time, which was fun for Lucas and stressful for Phil and I. You try keeping a 21 month old "in" his lane, but not "on" his lane. He has the highest score of all 9 players. (the 3 kids played with bumpers). It was a crazy day to say the least. We also had the BEST time at the Salt Lake Childrens Museum. This was more our style. Lucas could run everywhere and play with everything! We were there for over 4 hours, taking only a break to eat. If you ever go to the Gateway, you really need to go. It is so much fun! Below are pictures from this past weekend. It was a weekend to remember! We hope you had a great Thanksgiving! We really are so blessed and we want you each to know you are part of our blessings!

Whenever Papa Oliveira comes to visit Lucas gets a haircut! Here he isbefore and after! We are keeping it long..dont worry. But he needs to get ready for his big apperance in aunt Lindseys wedding in a few weeks!

We started a new tradition. On Thanksgiving day Lucas and Reese made a beautiful and delicious gingerbread house. It was a yummy mess!

A picture before the bowling begins with Nona and Papa!

Lucas and daddy bowling!

Pictures from the museum. We played in the water, on the farm, with instruments, a real helicopter, etc. It was a blast!

Insurance is going to love us!

The last few weeks have been a really trying time for my family. I want to send out all of my love to my sister Kaitlyn who is really sick in the hospital of Honolulu. She has been diagnosed with a sever case of salmonella poisoning. This has caused damage to her organs and she is having internal bleeding that the doctors are trying to fix. She is such a trooper. She has had horrible pain in a far away place from her parents and family, she is scared, alone and she is beyond sick. She has more courage than I will ever have! She is amazing and her faith is so awesome! Hang in there Kaitlyn, I love you so much. Our prayers are also dedicated to papa Kellett who today had his hip replacement surgery! He has been in such pain for so long that we hope this will finally ease at least some of it, (although they have already scheduled the other hip replacement surgery for January)! My younger sister Lindsey had a planned surgery at the beginning of the month to remove her gull bladder as she was experiencing horrible pains from gull stones. She too was a trooper and decided that before she gets married in December she really didn't need the extra stress of all the extra pain. if I could be in more than one place at a time I would be in Utah with of course my family, Hawaii with Kaitlyn and Michigan with my dad. i hate to see my family in pain and I hate to be so far away! Lucas, Phil and I wish we could be with all of our family members all of the time, so instead we just send our love, prayers and well wishes! Here is a picture of my amazing family!

UPDATE!

Ok, so I know some of you have been wondering what has been going on and I cant believe it has been over a month since my last post! For all of my teacher friends, you know why it has taken so long. The beginning of the year is ridiculous. This year I have transitioned to a private school called U CAN LEARN where I teach students with dyslexia and other slight learning disabilities. Even though I only have 6 students in grades 1-3, I have been so busy with some of the administrative aspects and my students range from a 31/2 year old cognitive level to a 8 year old. But... I love it! Phil is starting his last year at BYU and working on his second major. We will be applying to dental schools this spring so we will keep you posted! He continues to work from home and is beyond busy! We are so lucky to have my mother in law Lela living with us. I know most people think its crazy and totally asking for trouble, but we are so blessed. She has her own space downstairs and spoils us all so much. Lucas loves to be able to spend everyday with her and I love having another female around! With Lela here, my house is always clean, dinner is made and Lucas is so happy. So, needless to say I am spoiled and who wouldn't want their mother in law living with them! I am so appreciative for all the time I get to spend with Lucas now and for all of her help. Shes amazing!

I am going to include some random pictures of the last month or so. Its hope its not too boring but I included them for family to catch up. I promise to be better this next month! I love reading all of your blogs and being able to stay in touch. We are so lucky to have so many wonderful friends in our lives!

Lucas and daddy had a trip to the aquarim in late August before school started. They had such a great time together and bonded with the fish. Lucas went exploring through the caves!

Lucas loves to help, especially with cooking. Lately he is such a chef. Here he is inside our pantry, wearing his apron and "getting the ingredients". I love how much he helps!

Last Sunday, we had a Brazilian feast! My mother-in-law, a friend of ours and I spent 5 hours cooking. We made homemade bread, noodles, lasagne, and pastel (a brazilian hot pocket)! It was so much fun not to mention the food was amazing! I cant wait to do this again and hope to one day share this food with my own family!

These are my ever so adorable students on our first field trip to the farm. They are all so much fun and I love them!

We had family pictures taken at Wheeler Farm. Suzy is so amazing at taking pictures and we can hardly wait for our pictures to get edited. These are pictures that my in-laws took from the sidelines. They are cute and we really did have a good time. Lucas was pretty cooperative. We will post the pictures from Suzy as soon as we get them!

Lucas was so excited to see the ducks, he was in heaven!

Still so in love after 3 1/2 years. I am so lucky. I have the best husband and an adorable son! Life couldnt get better!

OUR TRIP TO THE FARM!

We had so much fun at the farm of Thanksgiving Point.
We spent a night playing with goats, sheep, turkeys, horses,
cows, different kinds of birds and a donkey. Yes, a donkey!
Lucas loves animals, just like his daddy and we will be visiting
again sometime soon with Nona and Papa. What a great day
we had!

FEEDING THE GOATS, Lucas learns to share!

Lucas learned where milk comes from and had no fear.

Our cowboy posing with farmer mom and farmer dad!

A sight never to be seen again, Lucas and
daddy in jail! Although somedays I wish I
had one of these in the backyard.

Lucas went on a pony ride, loved every
minute and was a natural cowboy!

Lucas and I went on a wagon ride.
